Bolaji Abdullahi has reacted to comments attributed to Christopher Musa over the comparison of repentant terrorists to the biblical prodigal son, warning that such remarks could weaken public confidence in the country’s security strategy.
In a post shared by Bolaji Abdullahi on his X account, Abdullahi said the language used in discussing terrorism is important because it reflects government priorities and shapes how citizens understand justice. He stated, “When a government begins to frame terrorists in familial terms, it blurs the moral and legal lines that must remain clear in any serious security response.”
According to him, the country’s security response should focus on protecting lives, ensuring justice for victims, and sending a clear message that violent crimes will not be treated lightly. He argued that emotional or symbolic comparisons may create the impression that the suffering of victims is being overlooked. Abdullahi further added, “With this mindset, it is easy to understand why the current approach has struggled to protect lives and decisively end the killings.”
