Abuja Network Outages Linked to Diesel Supply Disruption – NCC‎

‎By Chimezie Godfrey

‎The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has blamed the recent telecommunications network disruptions in parts of Abuja on diesel supply challenges affecting infrastructure provider, IHS Nigeria Limited.

‎This was disclosed by the Commission’s Head of Public Affairs, Mrs Nnenna Ukoha, in a statement issued on Saturday.

‎Ukoha said the Commission was fully aware of the Quality of Service (QoS) challenges being experienced by subscribers and traced the disruption to ongoing actions by the National Oil and Gas Suppliers Association (NOGASA), which have affected diesel delivery to critical telecom sites.

‎She said the NCC was actively intervening to address the situation.

‎“We understand the inconvenience caused by these service disruptions.

‎”We wish to reassure the public that the commission, working with the relevant government agencies and affected operators, is taking decisive steps to restore normal service levels as quickly as possible.

‎”We remain dedicated to effectively managing the situation and will keep the public updated on progress towards restoring full telecommunication services in Abuja.

‎”We thank telecommunications subscribers for their understanding and patience during this period, and reaffirm our commitment to enabling high-quality telecommunications services nationwide,” Ukoha said.
