Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s leadership role and his continued commitment to national unity and security.
Abiodun said this during a special jumat service to mark the 2026 Ahmed Forces Remembrance day celebration, held at the Central Mosque, Kobiti , Abeokuta on Friday.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, said that underTinubu’s leadership, deliberate efforts were being made to strengthen the armed forces and confront complex security challenges.
He added that the current security realities reminded Nigerians that peace was sustained through sacrifice, vigilance and unity.
“Nigeria is worth protecting together as we continue to build our future together, citizens should reject violence, embrace dialogue, promote tolerance and support lawful efforts to secure our nation.
” The amed forces remembrance day reminds us that the peace we enjoy was secured at a great cost.
” Our fallen heroes stood between our nation and chaos, serving Nigeria, without regards to tribe, religion or region, they served one nation under one flag, their sacrifice continues to unite us as one people,” he said.
Abiodun said that Ogun state remained committed to supporting the welfare and dignity of the families of fallen heroes.
In his sermon, the Mufasi of Egbaland, Alhaji Abdulai Odaranile, said that security of lives and property remained important in every nation of the world.
“Any nation without adequate security is prone to slavery,” he said.
He noted that God is pleased with everyone who come together to offer prayers for those who laid their lives for the Nation, and comfort families of the deceased. (NAN)(nannews.ng)
