The three-day Fiddau prayer for the repose of the soul of the elder brother of the Director-General (D-G) of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Alhaji Salisu Dembos, Alhaji Sa’idu Hamidu, was held on Monday at his Malali-Kaduna residence.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)reports that the deceased, who was aged 68, died on Friday at Monac Hospital, Kaduna, after a brief illness.
NAN also reports that the prayer session was attended by relatives, friends, associates and other well wishers.
They included Dembos and the Managing Director of NAN, Malam Ali M. Ali, represented by the agency’s Kaduna Zonal Manager, Bashir Rabe-Mani.Several clerics offered fervent prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for the Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
The late Hamidu was until his death the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Tidbe International Company Ltd, Kaduna.
