A political support group under the aegis of Enugu State Unity Forum (EUF) has initiated a sensitization and mobilization campaign in the nooks and crannies of Enugu North Senatorial district to ensure the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah in the 2027 general election.
The forum stated that they need to take the message of Mbah’s good governance to the people of the senatorial zone and educate them on the need to rally their support behind him come 2027 for the continuation of his good work in the zone and the state in general.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Enugu North Senatorial District chapter of the EUF at Nsukka Local Government secretariat, on Monday, Associate Prof Ikpechukwu Ibenekwu, EUF Coordinator for Nsukka Zone said the forum is made up of all residents of Enugu State above 18 years who are passionate about the good governance of Gov. Mbah in the state.
According to the Coordinator, “the forum aims to champion grassroots mobilization across the zone for the governor’s re-election in 2027 to ensure the continuation of his administration’s people-oriented governance.
“EUF is composed of people from various backgrounds, including political, professional, religious, and community sectors, market people among others
“Our primary target is to initiate a grassroots mobilization and sensitization across the local government areas and political wards in this district to garner support for the governor, whom everybody is attesting that he has performed wonderfully well.
“The governor has taken the state to the next level with his people-oriented governance, touching and reactivating every sector of the state’s economy simultaneously, so what this forum is doing is to reciprocate his good gestures as well as mobilize support for him.
“Those inaugurated today will swing into action immediately by talking to our people at the grassroots, various wards, polling units and communities that governor Mbah is doing well and needs their total support to do more,” he said.
The six local government chairmen in Nsukka zone in their separate remarks commended the founders of the forum for recognizing the massive and transformative work of Gov Mbah in Enugu State.
The LG chairmen pledged the maximum support of their various Local Government areas for the forum stressing that Mbah had performed more than any governor that governed Enugu State in the past within his short term in office.
“We have smart schools, hospitals in all political wards and adequate security in Enugu State is because of Gov Mbah.
“Many projects are going on simultaneously in the three Senatorial zones is because of the our capacity governor who does not discriminate in his developmental agenda in the state.
“Mbah has not only done well in Enugu State but has been adjudged the best governor in the country in infrastructures and security.
“We will fund and support Enugu Unity Forum to embark on door to door mobilization of residents that will ensure Mbah records above 90 per cent victory in total votes cast during governorship election in Enugu State in 2027 general elections,” they said
Igwe Patrick Okoro from Nkpunano Community Nsukka LGA who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers present, pledged the support of the royal fathers from the district.
“All traditional rulers in the zone are solidly behind Mbah’s second tenure because he has done marvelously well in his first tenure,” he said.
The Nsukka zonal executive of the forum was administered the oath of office by Bar Friday Omeke while LGs and ward Executives were administered the oath of office by Bar Felix Asadu the former Secretary of Nsukka LG.
Our correspondent reports that the highlight of the occasion was the official inauguration of Enugu North Senatorial District, Local Government areas and wards executives of the Enugu Unity Forum.
