The convener of FixNASS 2027, Comrade Kennedy Iyare, has urged Nigerians to ensure that electoral officers would not leave polling booths without transmitting results of the elections to INEC IReV to ensure a credible election come 2027.
Iyare also said having a credible election was key to solving the problems bedeviling the country, adding that leaders did not believe in the power of the ballot.
He made the statement at the flag-off ceremony of FixNASS 2027 and youth empowerment programme in Benin City, Edo state.
Iyare lamented the weaponisation of poverty in Nigeria and blamed the youths for the problem Nigeria was currently going through, maintaining that the youth kept blaming leaders without realising that they had all it took to change the narrative.
“The reality of the failure of government has become part of our lives, the reason is simply that our leaders do not believe in the power of the ballot. It is only in Nigeria that a politician become so rich by stealing our money.
In Nigeria, government exploit the poor, because their only tool is the weaponization of poverty, I watched the SDP jingle of MKO Abiola in 1993, everything that he campaigned with then, has become worse, but the reality is this, if you ask me who killed this country, Tinubu is not the one who killed this country, not Buhari or any governor, you can think of but, the youth, every one of you here.”
He decried the exploitation of women by politicians, who were supposed to assist them without sexual exploitation.
“A man who wants to help you as a senator, or House of Representatives member will want to sleep with you, your brothers who have left school many years ago and do not have a job, will be the ones to snatch ballot boxes and buy votes for politicians.
“The APC and PDP thugs are the youth. Until the youth of this country stand up and say enough is enough, what you are passing through is a child’s play, you have not seen anything yet.

“And that is the reason for FixNASS. The campaign is to educate you on how we can fix the National Assembly. This is the biggest movement, that will shape the narrative in 2027.
“This is what we should do, let those who are decamping decamp, let them be 32 governors, we will reduce it to 12. In 2027, you can fix it, it is either the election is credible or inconclusive, every problem we have is tied to election rigging.”
He berated the National Assembly for rejecting mandatory electronic transmission of results in real time, adding, “if the 10th Assembly had made the electronic transmission of election results mandatory, all your problems would have been solved.”
