2027: “Abia Has No Choice” — Doris Ogala Declares Herself Next Governor [VIDEO]

African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has boldly declared that she will emerge as the state’s next governor in the 2027 election.

The actress-turned-politician made the statement during a live session on TikTok.

A video from the broadcast circulated widely on social media on Sunday, drawing reactions from supporters and critics alike.

Speaking with confidence during the session, Ogala told viewers that her emergence as governor was already settled and beyond doubt.

“I, Doris Ogala, as your governor, you don’t have choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have choice.

“God has said it, so shall it be. It is very simple, why don’t you get that?” she said.

Her remarks quickly generated discussions across different social media platforms, with many users sharing varying opinions on her confidence ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.

Ogala is expected to contest under the platform of the African Action Congress. She had earlier secured the party’s governorship ticket and announced her readiness to challenge the current administration in Abia State.

Following her emergence as the party’s candidate, she vowed to focus on the welfare of residents if elected. She also promised to create employment opportunities, encourage investment and implement policies aimed at improving economic activities across the state.

The Nollywood actress has become increasingly active in politics in recent years. Beyond her entertainment career, she has participated in advocacy campaigns and political engagements linked to governance and development issues in Abia State.

Her latest declaration comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum across the country, with aspirants and political parties gradually positioning themselves for the next electoral cycle.

While the governorship election remains months away, Ogala’s comments have already placed her at the centre of political conversations in Abia, where the race is expected to attract significant public attention.

Recall that Politics Nigeria reported in June 2026 that Ogala was hospitalised after collapsing during a political consultation programme in Umuahia. She was taken to the Federal Medical Centre for treatment.
