Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Team of the Lagos State Command have arrested two suspected kidnappers after they abducted a victim and kept him inside the bush for ransom
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects, Oluwatobi Anaegbulam, 29 and Godwin Nwuagbueze, 37, were apprehended for allegedly kidnapping the victim, Godwin Friday Andrew and keeping him inside Badagry bush for ransom.
The incident happened on 30th December, 2025, at Oko-Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
However, the information leaked to the Police, who moved into action and eventually arrested the two suspects while others managed to escape and are now at large.
The suspects were detained at the State Command for interrogation and were found culpable for conspiracy and kidnapping under the Criminal Law of the State.
They were consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
Part of the charges read:
“That you, Oluwatobi Anaegbulam ‘m’, Godwin Nwuagbueze ‘m’ and others now at large on the 30th day of December, 2025, at about 1400hrs at Oko-Badagry Expressway, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: kidnapping and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Prohibition Law 2017 of Lagos State of Nigeria.”
COUNT II:”That you Oluwatobi Anaegbulam ‘m’, Godwin Nwuagbueze ‘m’ and others still at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully capture and detain one Mr. Godwin Friday Andrew ‘m’ against his will inside the bush and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 2 of the Kidnapping Law 2017 of Lagos State Nigeria.”
However, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered their remand in the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
