Wizkid behind my first major international show – Oxlade

Nigerian musician, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, better known as Oxlade has spoken on the the huge support he’s been getting from Afrobeats maestro, Ayodeji Wizkid Balogun.

According to him, Wizkid made it possible for him to have his first ever performance at the prestigious O2 Arena in 2018.

The Ku lo sa crooner made this known during an interview on UK’s Capital Xtra radio as he also recalled that Wiz took him to Paris to perform at the 21,000 capacity arena few weeks ago.

Oxlade said the Ojuelegba crooner is the blueprint which other growing artistes use to master their craft.

He further said that Big Wiz is someone others run to whenever they need to check and balance their artistry.

He described Starboy as a big brother to him and also revealed that they are from the same neighbourhood. Oxlade stressed that all he has for Wizkid is love and he would always appreciate him.

In other news, Wizkid has said that being born and bred in Ojuelegba, Lagos shaped him into the person he is today.

He made the statement during a chat with Flutterwave CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, who asked about his music journey and how it all started.

Wizkid is a brand ambassador for Flutterwave, which is a financial tech company that offers payment solution services.

The Grammy-winner, who recounted his early days in the music industry while in Ojuelegba, said it was a rough place to grow as a child.

According to the Starboy Entertainment CEO, he had a dream of always making music and taking it from Lagos to the world.

He explained that he was in a situation where he always had to prove himself to the people that matter in the industry. Wiz said that he is just starting and now that they have been let in, there is no going back.
