Why I attended Wema Bank’s 80th anniversary gala night – Bella Disu

Executive vice chairman of Globacom, Bella Disu, has revealed why she honoured the invitation to Wema Bank’s 80th anniversary gala night.

Sharing photos from the Friday night event on Instagram, Bella said she attended the event to support someone she holds in high esteem — the bank’s chairman Dr Oluwayemisi Olorunshola.

“Last night, I had the honour of attending Wema Bank’s 80th anniversary to support someone I admire greatly — Dr. Oluwayemisi Olorunshola, the bank’s first-ever female Chairman. Being in a room full of visionary leaders was so inspiring!” she wrote.

She added, “Congratulations to the entire Wema Bank team on celebrating 80 years of resilience and innovation! Here’s to breaking barriers and shaping the future!”

Themed “Timeless Elegance,” the anniversary gala held at Agbonmagbe, Lagos, and brought together dignitaries, entertainers, stakeholders and supporters of the bank.

Musical performances from Davido, Wande Coal, 9ice, Adewale Ayuba and spoken word poet Ibquake lit up the night.

Clips circulating online also showed Wema Bank’s managing director, Moruf Oseni, warmly receiving guests at the venue.

Among the prominent attendees were Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who commended Wema Bank for its contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Others present included content creator Folagbade Banks; actors Femi Branch, Stan Nze and Damilola Ogunsi; and music producer Cobhams Asuquo.
