Many Ghanaians have penned down their frustration about the approval of the e-levy taxation. A school of thought are of the view that the digital taxation will collapse the mobile money system since it has become the main channel by which the government will use to collect taxes from citizens.

However, some Ghanaians especially sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party have thrown their weights behind the approval of the e-levy mobile taxing system.

Well, Sarkodie who has been rumored to also be a sympathizer of the NPP has broken his long silence about the new system.

According to the rapper, he doesn’t complain when he is being taxed in other countries because its leaders have provided avenues for him to make more money but the same cannot be said about Ghana.

In a tweet, the rapper intimated that avenues have not been provided or well established enough for Ghanaians to even make a living out of them, hence their reason for complaining about the e-levy.

He further stated that due to the hardship in the country, an intervention which aims at just enquiring about the well-being of a citizen may sound like a verbal assault.

He wrote; I pay a lot of taxes outside and I don’t complain because I’m using avenues they made available to make ?( it’s only right ) it’s not same here and that’s why we complain not because the “E Levy” is bad . When you broke, a harmless “good morning “ can sound like a tease.
