“We love Champz new EP you know, he’s my kid”—Wizkid

Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has shared a rare glimpse of his softer side as he celebrated his son, Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz. The proud father expressed his joy, saying, “We love it man, he’s my kid you know!”.

Champz, following in his father’s footsteps, is already making waves in the music scene with his debut project, Champion’s Arrival.

14-year-old Champz tops charts with debut EP, making history in Nigeria

Released earlier this week, the five-track EP topped Apple Music Nigeria less than five hours after its release, making Boluwatife the youngest African artist to achieve this feat. It is also charting in 16 countries and ranked 71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums.

At just 14, Champz has been impressing fans with his energy, creativity, and confidence.

In his songs, he speaks candidly about his experiences and feelings. In Superstar, he reveals lessons from young heartbreaks, vowing to show love to his future children and asserting that his lyrics are authentically his, despite critics calling him a “nepo baby.”

In Grind, he throws playful shade at haters, rapping that they will “regret that my father didn’t wear latex,” a cheeky nod to his father’s legacy.

Champz’s mother, Sola Ogudugu, has been a constant pillar of support, guiding him through both life and music.

She shared her pride on social media, thanking fans for streaming the EP and celebrating her son’s milestone.

Over the years, she has been praised for raising him with humility, love, and maturity, even as Wizkid’s busy schedule keeps him away from some of Boluwatife’s personal milestones.

Fans continue to celebrate Champz’s debut, admiring his talent, honesty, and fearlessness at such a young age.

With his father’s support and his mother’s guidance, Boluwatife is already carving his own path, proving that musical talent runs deep in the family.
