Watch your friends and associates because most criminal informants are from within, says Oyo Police

The Oyo State Police Command on Sunday admonished people to be wary of their friends and associates because most of those who give criminals information are from within the circles of those people.

The police command disclosed this on its Twitter handle while urging people to be mindful of disclosing their movements routines to those they see as friends and associates.

The command said this apparently due to cases it had handled regarding the situation whereby those who give information to criminals are found out to be friends and associates of the victims.

The command said though the business of security is a collective responsibility of everyone, people should be careful about their close friends and associates because most of those who give information to criminals are from within.

It therefore admonished residents of the state that as they prepare for the new week, they should be careful about disclosing their movements to those that are close to them.
