Video: Fred Amata snubbed as son weds fiancée in New York [photos]

Oreva Amata, the son of renowned actor Fred Amata and well-known television host Agatha Amata, got married to Katherine, an American citizen, in New York on Sunday.

Fred Amata unexpectedly skipped the event, which raises the question of why he constantly does when his kids celebrate important milestones like graduating from college. Could it be that he was passed over for the invitation because he was a deadbeat or absent father?

He then continues to do what he always does and updates his Instagram profile with pictures from the party.

“Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Amata. Happy Married Life. The Good Lord bless your union according to the multitude of His loving kindness” Fred Amata wrote, sharing photos of Oreva and his wife on their wedding day.

However, his ex-wife and media star Agatha Amata participated in the event as the Mother of the Day.

As the bride and groom exchanged vows, the delighted groom’s mother was cheered on by her in-laws, as well as other close relatives and friends.

Agatha and Fred have such a confusing love story. Their narrative continues to be a mystery that many people are still trying to unravel about 18 years after their marriage crumbled.

Oreva (the groom) and Stephanie were born from their wedlock.

Ms Agatha Amata, the CEO of Rave TV , Lagos and Trend FM100.9, Asaba, divorced his famous actor husband in 2005. She has however, not remarried since then, although three years after their divorce, her ex-husband welcomed a daughter, Zino, with actress and ex-beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberisima, in London.

Ms Amata became famous for her talk show, ‘Inside Out with Agatha’, which is said to be the longest-running television talk show in Nigeria, airing for over twenty years.

In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo on the show #WithChude, Ms Amata opened up about single motherhood and how she handled the divorce, among other issues.
