Nigerian football icon, Mutiu Adepoju has stated that Victor Osimhen has what it takes to break Rashidi Yekini’s Super Eagles all-time top scorer record.
Former Vitoria Setubal striker Yekini is currently Nigeria’s all-time goal scorer with 37 goals while Osimhen is joint-second on list alongside the legendary Segun Odegbami with 23 goals.
Adepoju has backed the 25-year-old to move past his old teammate on his top scorer’s chart.
“Osimhen has all it takes to break Yekini’s record,” Adepoju told SuperSport.
“He’s a very committed player, gives everything for the national team and so it’s very possible for him to break Yekini’s record.”
