“Trump is right” – Orji Kalu supports US military action amid claims of Christian genocide in Nigeria

Former Abia State governor and senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has defended recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, insisting that the American leader did not lie about Nigeria’s security challenges.

Kalu’s remarks follow Trump’s statement that Christians in Nigeria are facing targeted killings, a claim that has drawn mixed reactions globally.

The senator, however, maintained that the situation in the country has indeed reached alarming levels and requires urgent international attention.

In a report by AIT LIVE, Kalu stated that Trump spoke the truth about the killings taking place across Nigeria. He explained that both Christians and Muslims have suffered at the hands of terrorists and that the violence is not limited to any single faith.

According to him, the situation in states such as Plateau, Benue, and Zamfara demonstrates the urgent need for international support.

Kalu expressed his support for possible collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in the fight against terrorism.

The ex-governor, who declared himself pro-America, revealed that he has engaged privately with influential figures in the U.S government, including two former American presidents and about six senators.

He said they all expressed readiness to support Nigeria in its fight against terrorism. He stressed that comments by an American president are not made lightly, noting that such statements are usually backed by intelligence assessments.

Kalu expressed confidence that the newly appointed service chiefs and security heads are aggressively tackling banditry to restore stability, adding that foreign investors continue to show interest in Nigeria but emphasised that the benefits must be felt by ordinary citizens.
