Tinubu who arrived from the Defence House is welcome by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Other officials on board to receive the President are the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Mele Kyari and the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable James Faleke etc.

Edo, Ondo Lawmakers Dump PDP

The lawmakers representing Edo South, Senator Mathew Urhoghide and Ondo Central, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, have both defected from the People’s Democratic Party.

 The duo made their defection known on Wednesday in separate letters read by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over the plenary.

In his letter titled, “Notification of Resignation of My Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” Uroghide stated that his exit from the party is a result of irreconcilable differences and squabbles with the party.

APC Women Leaders, Others Kidnapped After Attending Kaduna Gov’s Inauguration

Two women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been kidnapped along Manini flashpoint of Birnin Gwari local governments area of Kaduna State on their way back home after attending the inauguration ceremony of the new Governor of the, Senator Uba Sani, on Monday.

Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday morning.

According to him, the bandits blocked the road and kidnapped the two APC women leaders alongside scores of others.

NNPC Adjusts Petrol Pump Price As Fuel Queues Surge

The price adjustment by the NNPC is coming some 48 hours after President Bola Tinubu announced an end to the subsidy era during his inaugural speech at the Eagle Square on May 29, 2023.

Fuel queues have since resurfaced across the country since the presidential pronouncement as Nigerians forage for the premium product which is now sold from N400/litre to as high as N600/litre.

Taraba Gov Appoints SSG, Chief Of Staff

Taraba State governor, Kefas Agbu on Wednesday appointed Timothy Kataps as the Secretary to the State Government and Jeji Williams as his Chief of Staff.

The Head of Service of Taraba State, Jemima Nathans, announced the appointments. She also disclosed that the appointments take immediate effect.
