I Could Have Slapped Kwankwaso At Aso Rock, Says Ganduje

Former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has said he could have slapped his predecessor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, if he met him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Daily Trust had reported how Kwankwaso met with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock on Friday.

While briefing State House reporters after a meeting with Tinubu on the security situation in Kano State following the demolition exercise embarked upon by the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Ganduje expressed displeasure.

He said, “I know he is in the building but we have not met. Probably if we met, maybe I could have slapped him.”

Makinde Flags Off N9.6bn Road Project In Ibadan

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday flagged off the N9.6 billion Akobo – Olounda/Abaa 8.3 kilometres road project in Ibadan.

The Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the dualisation of the road project in the Lagelu Local Government area was contracted to Samchase Nigeria Ltd.

Makinde, reiterating his commitment to infrastructure development, said that his administration had resolved to put in place critical infrastructure that would open up the state for economic expansion.

Tinubu, Kwankwaso Meet In Presidential Villa

President Bola Tinubu meets with one of his co-contenders in the February 25 poll, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Kwankwaso, who was the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the election, came fourth in the election.

He is the first presidential candidate in the keenly-contested election to visit Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa.

Peoples Democratic Party member representing Abak State constituency, Hon. Udeme Otong has emerged as the Speaker of the 8th Akwa Ibom House of Assembly while PDP’s Hon Kufreabasi Edidem representing Itu state constituency, has emerged as the Deputy Speaker.

Otong, a two-term lawmaker emerged after he secured 20 votes to defeat his only contender, Mr Ukpong Akpabio of the same party representing Essien Udim state constituency, who scored 6 votes, at the inauguration of the 8th assembly on Uyo Friday.
