Buhari Hands Over Documents To Tinubu

President Muhammmadu Buhari has conferred the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR), Nigeria’s highest honour, on the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The president also conferred the national honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) on the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.

The investiture of national honours and official handover of transition documents ceremony were performed at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday morning.

The 2023 presidential inauguration will mark Nigeria’s 7th consecutive democratic transition.

My Actions Were For Common Good – Pat Utomi

Political economist, Professor Pat Utomi has subtly reacted to an allegation that he was used by the “president-elect” Bola Tinubu, to step down for Peter Obi as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate and to fund same campaign in order to reduce the winning chances of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Utomi on his Twitter handle on Thursday was reacting to the statement made by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale.

SaharaReporters had on Wednesday reported that Akinwale revealed in an interview that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

Akinwale while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, alleged that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu’s “son.”

Worst Nigerian president ever – Sowore knocks Buhari

The African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has knocked President Muhammadu Buhari over the commissioning of some roads, projects, and bridges.

Sowore described Buhari as the worst president Nigeria ever had in its history.

Faulting the commissioning of road projects virtually, Sowore in a tweet claimed Buhari is a disaster.

Tweeting, Sowore wrote: “Yesterday, Nigeria’s worst President ever, @Mbuhari commissioned roads, projects and bridges that hadn’t been completed, to be “smart” about it he commissioned them virtually from his Aso Rock office.

Tinubu is God’s answer to prayers for good leadership – Senator Gaya

Sen. Kabiru Gaya has said that the emergence of Sen. Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s President-elect is God’s answer to the country’s prayers for good leadership.

He said this while speaking with the Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during a joint prayer session organised by APC Stakeholders Forum on Wednesday night.

Gaya, who represents Kano-South Senatorial District in the Senate, said Tinubu’s antecedents when he was governor of Lagos State for two-terms was there for all to see.

He expressed optimism that if he could replicate what he did in Lagos State in terms of infrastructure and grow the state’s economy in spite of obvious odds at the national level, Nigeria would be a better place for all.

He said this on Thursday when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

While praising Minister of Ation Hadi Sirika for his doggedness in ensuring the airline becomes a reality, he said many Nigerians will benefit from the project.

“The minister has been bashed unfairly all over the place. He has been doing this, all of the commitment to put this airline in place but simply obstacles have been put on his part every inch of the way, until just a week or two ago when the thing was cleared for its resumption,” he said.
