Take It Back Movement (TIB), a human rights and pro-democracy organization, has demanded that the Nigerian Police Force release the Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti from detention in accordance with a court judgment.

On Saturday, the group made the announcement while requesting that the Nigerian police drop all charges against Seun Kuti, son of Fela Kuti, a legendary figure in the genre of Afrobeat.

The court has granted Seun Kuti bail, and the police in Nigeria should honor that decision. Put an end to the repression. The group tweeted, “#FreeSeunKutiNow!” as the hashtag became trending online.

You may recall that on Monday, Seun Kuti was taken into custody after paying a visit to the state police command, and that he remains in custody despite a bail order having been issued by the court.

The rapper turned himself in to the police as promised, allowing them to more thoroughly investigate allegations that he assaulted a police officer, as seen in a viral video.

SaharaReporters also said that Seun Kuti would miss today’s (Saturday) performance in Majorca, Spain, since he was still being held by the Nigeria Police Force, which was looking for proof of criminal activity against him.

On Friday, Mrs. Adeola Olatunbosun, the Lagos State Chief Magistrate in Yaba, revised her decision to allow the Nigeria Police Force to administer a drug test to Kuti.

On Saturday, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State praised his counterpart, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, calling him “a fearless and a courageous man who speaks truth to the powers that be” and adding that El-Rufai is never known to be sycophantic in nature.

The governor said that the 2023 president must go to the south of Nigeria for the sake of national unity and growth, and that El-Rufai was the only one with the bravery to insist on this.

This was because Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, delivered a statement commemorating the event in which he praised governor El-Rufai for his diligence, saying, “give El-Rufai any task, he will deliver it.”

Tinubu put up N20 million to help fund the book’s release.

On Saturday in Kaduna, the two men participated in a book presentation for Emmanuel Ado’s book on El-Rufai titled “Putting The People First.”

After allegedly escaping an assassination attempt, the petitioner has made a request for protection.

Dr. Wakili Kabir-Muhammad, a petitioner before the Election Tribunal for the Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone in the 2023 Elections, made a plea for greater protection for politicians on Saturday as they challenge the results of the recently concluded election in court.

While chatting with reporters in the Keffi Local Government Area of the state, Dr. Kabir-Muhammad, a Senatorial Candidate for the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in the just concluded 2023 general elections, made the call.

He claimed the calls came after unidentified gunmen raided his home in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) Keffi last Saturday but failed to locate him.

They encountered my family during their operations, and I know they threatened to kill them if they didn’t tell them where I was, so obviously I narrowly escaped death yesterday.

I was also informed that the four burglars had three AK-47 riffles and a pistol when they broke into my lodging. They meant to harm me since they continued inquiring about my whereabouts, but my wife informed them I had to leave for a meeting, so they threatened his entire family with violence.

Though he had reported the matter to the Police region Command in the Keffi local government region, real estate developer Kabir-Muhammad stated that he described the incident as having a political undertone.
