There’s No Drake Without Lil Wayne, Don’t Even Compare – Son

Lil Wayne’s son, Lil Novi, has sparked a fresh controversy online after claiming that his father wrote most of Drake’s hit songs.

He recently fuelled the long-standing ghostwriting rumours that have trailed Drake’s successful career for years.

Asked to choose the better artist between Drake and Lil Wayne, 14-year-old Lil Novi picked his father as expected.

In the viral clip, Novi added that Lil Wayne is the brain behind Drake’s most popular records, and if it wasn’t for his father, there Drake wouldn’t even exist.

“My dad wrote most of his s###. On God, if it wasn’t for my pops, there wouldn’t be no Drake,” he said.

The teenager further noted that he is not speaking up to disrespect Drake as an artist, but he considers it an insult for anyone to compare the Canadian lyricist to Lil Wayne.

“No disrespect to Drake. He hard now, but I’m saying… Come on, man. That’s not a question,” he added.

This is coming after Lil Novi recently featured alongside his father on “Mula Komin In,” a song on the “Tha Carter VI” album, released earlier this month.

The project has drawn mixed reviews, with some fans tagging it underwhelming, a criticism that Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter has since addressed.

“You said Carter VI is trash. That’s fine. But let me tell you something about my father and that album. Just because y’all can’t do a little TikTok dance to it doesn’t mean it’s trash, babes.

My dad was talking real s###. There’s stuff on that album you’ll hear in 2K, in video games, in malls—it’s universal, my love,” she said.
