Swiss tennis great, Roger Federer, on Thursday, September 15, announced his retirement from the sport.

Federer said; “As many of you know, the past three years have presented me with challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. I’ve worked hard to return to full competitive form. But I also know my body’s capacities and limits, and its message to me lately has been dear. I am 41 years old..

“I have played more than 1,500 matches over 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career.

“The Laver Cup next week in London will be my final ATP event. I will play more tennis in the future, of course, but just not in Grand Slams or on the tour.”

He will be retiring at age 41.

In other news, a young Nigerian man recently went viral after he was seen in a video with Brazilian footballer, Neymar Jr.

Many fans were curious as to how he was able to meet the PSG star who signed an autograph for him.

In the video, the guy known as Stanley was in the same room as Neymar and he wore a sleeveless which the football star signed on.

Speaking on how he travelled abroad and met the former Barcelona winger, he attributed the special privilege to the grace of God.

He, however explained that Neymar organised a competition many months ago and asked footballers around the world to upload videos of themselves to Instagram.

Stanley said he participated in the challenge and after posting his own video, Neymar picked his submission out of thousands.

He decided to clear the air that he is not the player’s PA because people have been begging him to connect them to Neymar.
