Teacher gets emotional as pupils gift her vegetables, sugarcane on her birthday

A teacher, Shiokwei Barsulai has been moved to emotions after her pupils surprised her by marking her birthday in school.

The Kamariny Primary School tutor shared a video which captured the moment the pupils presented gifts to her in class.

Kids of the school in Elgeyo Marakwet blindfolded Shiokwei and led her to their class where they gifted her a cake made from mud.

She also received charcoal, sugarcane and vegetables from the schoolchildren who were all happy to celebrate the day with their teacher.

Taking to her Twitter page, she wrote; “Wewe birthday yako umewahi letewa miwa makaa chepkarta and sweets? (On your birthday have you ever been gifted sugarcane, charcoal, traditional vegetables and candy?) I’m humbled.”
