Popular Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has finally confirmed that he is married to fellow singer Zuchu.
He, however, revealed that their main wedding ceremony will happen in the near future.
Speaking during a new interview, Diamond revealed that the world knew nothing about the mini wedding they organized because he and Zuchu decided to keep it private.
According to him, keeping it quiet was very deliberate, and they made that decision because they wanted the intimate gathering to be strictly for family.
“So the wedding, the real one, is coming. This one was just for family. It was between us. Just a little something. Nobody knew anything,” he said.
The musician stated that he never wanted his relationship to overshadow his music career because fans sometimes mix up real life with entertainment.
He maintained that overexposing fans to your love life can quickly make them lose focus on the art you are trying to sell.
“Back in the days, we didn’t want people to know. I didn’t want people to lose focus on my music and start focusing on my relationship,” Diamond said.
He then warned people to stop questioning his performances with women because he is married, stressing that marriage is marriage, and work is work.
“You can be married, but you can be committed. I’m an entertainer. If I’m doing a show or shooting with a lady, it’s work. Don’t start asking, ‘What about your wife?’ I’m working here,” he added.
