In a congratulatory message issued to newsmen on Friday in Sokoto, Usman described the appointment of the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff as a “well-deserved recognition” of his exceptional leadership, professional excellence, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s unity and security.

“Musa’s emergence comes at a critical period when the country requires seasoned professionals to reposition the defence sector for greater efficiency and national impact,” he said.

Usman urged the new minister to leverage his extensive operational knowledge and strategic military experience to confront the nation’s key security threats, including banditry, insurgency, kidnapping and other emerging challenges affecting various regions.

The special adviser expressed optimism that Musa’s proven track record would inspire renewed vigour within the armed forces and strengthen synergy among security agencies nationwide.

He further underscored the need to enhance intelligence gathering, boost troop morale, and invest in modern security technologies capable of out-matching criminal elements.

According to him, while the expectations of Nigerians remain high, he is confident that Musa will deliver on the trust placed in him.

Usman reaffirmed the readiness of the Sokoto dtate government to collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Defence to safeguard lives and property.

He stressed that Gov. Ahmed Aliyu’s administration was committed to supporting initiatives that promote peace, especially in communities affected by banditry.

He prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the new minister as he begins what he described as an important national assignment, expressing hope for a new chapter of progress in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
