A video featuring security personnel jogging after the convoy of Bishop David Oyedepo in his new Rolls Royce sparks mixed reactions across social media platforms.
It would be recalled that the preacher marked his 70th birthday on Friday, 27th of September and reportedly received two Rolls Royce as gifts.
The clip shows several security guards running beside the luxury car as it moves slowly, believed to be after a church event.
A video of Pastor Oyedepo in one of the Rolls Royce has ignited discussions, with many questioning the necessity of the security team, supposedly church members jogging after the car.
Critics argue that the scene reflects an unnecessary display of wealth and an obey-without-complain trait in a religious setting in Nigeria.
However, others have come to the defence of the church and its leader, pointing out that the actions of the security personnel are standard practice for close protection teams, especially when safeguarding high-profile individuals like Bishop Oyedepo, one of Africa’s most influential pastors.
