Sean Dyche has been named as the new coach of Everton following the sack of Frank Lampard who left the team at the 19th spot on the Premier League table.

Dyche was appointed as coach of Everton on a two-and-a-half-year contract, and his main task would be to get the team out of the relegation zone.

Speaking to the club’s website, Dyche said;

 “It’s an honour to become Everton manager. My staff and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track.

“I know about Everton’s passionate fanbase and how precious this club is to them. We’re ready to work and ready to give them what they want. That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort and getting back to some of the basic principles of what Everton Football Club has stood for for a long time.”

Prior to his recent appointment, Dyche was in charge of Burnley for 10 years. He enjoyed a good spell with the club, taking them to the 2018-19 Europa League play-offs, and keeping them in the Premier League for six consecutive seasons.

Dyche was sacked by Burnley last season with eight games to go. He left the club in a relegation fight, which ultimately saw them drop down to the Championship.
