In an effort to aid the government’s drive for quality education in Nigeria, Rere Foundation for Progress and Development, Ijebu-Imusin, Ogun State, has started distributing wall hangers and suggestion boxes to secondary schools within the local government.
On the 28th of March, 2025, the train of the delegation stormed Ijebu-Imusin Comprehensive High school, Ikala and Saint Anthony Grammar school, Ijebu Imusin (Junior and senior) to hand over the wall hangers and the suggestion boxes to the management, before educating the students on how they will be used.
CEO, Rere Foundation for Progress and Development, Oluwasegun Adesanya, revealed that the wall hangers can be used by the outgoing students to donate their school uniforms to their junior colleagues, while the suggestion boxes can come in handy by serving as a communication link between the students and the foundation.
Segun shared that even though children and youths are often referred to as the leaders of tomorrow, their tomorrow can only be secured if the government does the right things today.
“I remember when we were told we’re the leaders of tomorrow, that tomorrow is today, and we must take action by bringing initiatives that would make education easy to all students in Ijebu East Local Government. The future of the children should be well secured, and this should be a priority.
We are only rolling out the first ten which we are handing over to the various schools this week while other schools get theirs in batches,” he said.
The principals at both schools thanked the foundation for the thoughtful gesture, stating that the gifts will not just help the students, but they’ll also go a long way towards developing the academic institutions.
According to them, government efforts deserve more appreciation from citizens, especially when they help to ease the persistent burdens of Nigerians.
“It is important that individuals and organizations complement government’s effort by contributing their quota to easing the burdens of our people; we choose to do this through The Rere Foundation’s Fund,” they added.
