The lawmaker representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Gabriel Saleh Zock, on Wednesday, successfully moved a motion on the urgent need to rehabilitate two critical roads in Kaduna State.
The motion, which was adopted by the House and referred to the relevant committees, seeks the rehabilitation of the Jere–Kurmin Jibrin Road and the Kachia–Kwoi Road.
The move was aimed at improving connectivity and offering alternative routes for travelers within the Southern Kaduna axis.
While presenting the motion on the floor of the House, Hon. Zock stressed the socio-economic importance of the roads, noting that their current deplorable state has negatively impacted commerce, security response, and access to essential services for residents across the two local government areas.
“These roads are vital to the movement of people, goods, and services in the region. Their rehabilitation will ease transportation, boost local economies, and serve as alternative routes in times of crisis or emergencies,” the lawmaker told his colleagues.
Following deliberation, the motion was adopted and subsequently referred to the House Committee on Works, the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), and the North West Development Commission for further legislative action.
Hon. Zock expressed appreciation to his colleagues for their overwhelming support and commitment to infrastructural development in neglected communities.
