A few hours ago, prominent southern Elder Statesman, Chief Atedo Peterside took to social media to fault Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over some parts of the inaugural speech he delivered shortly after being sworn in as Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic.
In a post made on his Twitter handle on Monday night, Peterside, who is the Chairman of the ANAP Foundation, stated that while most of the content in Tinubu’s speech was good, the President, however, shouldn’t have made some allusions toward the contentious February 25 election in which he was declared the winner.
According to the Elder Statesman, Tinubu ought not to have described the election to be of better quality than all the other polls that have been conducted since the advent of the 4th Republic.
Quite interestingly, Chief Peterside’s remarks have begun drawing a flurry of mixed reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians online.
While some persons concurred with his assertions, others, however, insisted that the President was merely stating the facts about the just-concluded polls.
