President Tinubu suspends Emefiele

According to Lindaikejisblog. In a recent development, President Bola Tinubu has taken the decision to suspend Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor.

The suspension comes as a result of an ongoing investigation into his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the country’s economy.

According to a statement issued by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, President Tinubu has directed the immediate suspension of Mr. Godwin Emefiele, CFR, from his position as the Central Bank Governor.

The suspension is effective immediately.

The statement further reveals that Mr. Emefiele has been instructed to hand over the responsibilities of his office to the Deputy Governor (tions Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor in the interim.

This arrangement will remain in place until the investigation is concluded and the anticipated reforms in the financial sector are implemented.
