Reports indicate that DSS officials entered the EFCC office in Ikoyi and prevented EFCC staff from accessing their workplace, leading to gunshots being heard in the vicinity.

However, according to a statement by President Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, the President has urged the DSS to leave the premises peacefully. The statement emphasized that if there are any disagreements between these crucial government agencies, they should be resolved through amicable means.

The DSS, on the other hand, has asserted that they are occupying their own facility and carrying out their official and statutory responsibilities, contrary to the claim that they barricaded the EFCC office. In a statement, the DSS clarified that they have not prevented the EFCC from entering its office.

The situation revolves around a dispute over the ownership of the building in question. The DSS claims ownership of the premises, while the EFCC maintains that it is their rightful workplace.

Efforts are underway to peacefully resolve the disagreement between the two agencies. President Tinubu has emphasized the importance of resolving the issue amicably, acknowledging the significance of both organizations in the fight against corruption and ensuring good governance.
