Police Places $5000 Bounty On Suspected Murderer In USA

Authorities in Pennsylvania are on the hunt for a gunman accused of killing a 25-year-old man and critically injuring his 61-year-old mother during a violent home invasion in Lower Merion Township, a suburb of Philadelphia.

The victims, Andrew Gaudio and his mother, Bernadette Gaudio, were shot multiple times at their home around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. Despite her injuries, Bernadette managed to call 911 for help, District Attorney Kevin Steele said during a press conference.

“It appears Andrew Gaudio fought back and tried to help his mom,” Steele said.

Tragically, Andrew succumbed to his wounds, while Bernadette remains hospitalized in critical condition. Steele expressed cautious optimism, stating, “She seems to be moving in the right direction, so we’re hopeful that she will survive.”

Kelvin Roberts, 42, of Philadelphia, has been named the primary suspect and is wanted on charges including second-degree murder, burglary, and robbery. A second, unidentified individual is also being sought in connection with the crime.

“We’re dealing with dangerous people,” Steele emphasised

Investigators believe the suspects broke into the house through the basement, although it is unclear whether the attack was targeted or random.

Dash-cam footage from a Lower Merion police vehicle showed a white Hyundai Azera fleeing the scene. Police later traced the car to an address on Sansom Street in Philadelphia, where Bernadette’s stolen jewellery box was discovered. A witness at the location identified Roberts as the driver of the vehicle captured in the footage.

In addition to the jewellery box, the suspects also stole Bernadette’s 2004 Green Jeep Cherokee, which was later found abandoned in West Philadelphia.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Roberts’ arrest. Authorities urge anyone with details about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
