Partey Has Denied All The Rape Charges Against Him, He Looks Forward To Clearing His Name – Lawyer

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape.

He was recently charged with one count of sexual assault by the Metropolitan Police Service, and fans have been reacting.

According to the police, the offenses, which happened between 2021 and 2022, relate to two counts of rape of one woman, three counts of rape of a second woman, and a count of sexual assault of a third woman.

Metropolitan Police Service stated that investigation was opened in February 2022 when they first received a report of rape, and the 32-year-old is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Aug. 5.

Partey’s lawyer Jenny Wiltshire has since told Britain’s Press Association that Partey has denied all the rape allegations levelled against him.

She insisted that the former Arsenal midfielder is prepared to clear his name once and for all.

“He denies all the charges against him. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name,” she said.

The investigation team, led by Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, has confirmed that the women who could be victims will be given all the support they need.

He concluded by saying that everyone related to the case should expect to be questioned to determine the real facts of the matter.

“Our priority remains providing support to the women who have come forward.

We would ask anyone who has been impacted by this case, or anyone who has information, to speak with our team. You can contact detectives about this investigation by emailing [email protected]” he added.

The Ghanaian footballer joined Arsenal in a £45 million ($61.42m) transfer from Spanish club Atlético Madrid in 2020, but he recently left the club and has been a free agent since his Arsenal contract ended on Monday.
