NYSC Sanctions 61 Corps Members in Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sanctioned 61 members of the 2024 Batch C Stream I serving in Osun State for various offences.

While 32 corps members received extensions of service, 29 were declared absconders, according to the Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim.

He disclosed this on Tuesday during the low-key passing-out ceremony held across local government areas of the state, where 1,485 corps members were presented with their Certificates of National Service.

Obim explained that the sanctions were in line with the NYSC Bye-Laws and that the issuance of certificates marked the completion of the one-year mandatory national service.

Represented by the Assistant Director, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), Aleshinloye Lukman, the coordinator praised the corps members for their discipline, resilience, and commitment throughout the service year.

He also advised them to avoid night travels, maintain communication with their families for safety, and make the most of post-service opportunities.

At the Osogbo Local Government ceremony, the Assistant Director of Human Resources Management, Caroline Adenle, congratulated the outgoing corps members, urging them to uphold the ideals of patriotism, integrity, and selfless service.

“Remain patriotic, disciplined, and productive citizens as you move beyond service,” she said, stressing the importance of personal safety and continued contribution to national development.
