Nollywood actor, Chikezie Uwazie is dead

Seasoned Nigerian actor, Chikezie Uwazie has reportedly died in the United States of America.

This comes hours after the deaths of two popular actors, Saint Obi and Murphy Afolabi.

Vanguard reports that Uwazie passed on after he underwent a second brain surgery.

His colleague, Obey Etok Chima, broke the sad news of the actor’s death on her Facebook page on Sunday, May 14.

She wrote; “I can’t imagine am posting this. Chikezie Uwazie goneeeee. After a 2nd brain surgery. Gini na emezi. Am so shocked to get this news this evening. Just got this from our IMSU alumni platform.

“I thought you told me you were going to the states for greener pastures. You promised to come back some years back but I didn’t see you. Can’t believe you are gone but God knows best. Rest on Chyko.”

His death is the latest in a series of untimely tragedies to befall Nollywood within the last three days.

Uwazie has been living in the US for over seven years. He starred in 100s of Nigerian movies during his time in the early 2000s.
