A couple of months ago, we reported that Wizkid will be performing at Coachella alongside the likes of Beyoncé, the Weeknd, SZA, Eminem, Cardi B, Jidenna, Daniel Caesar and many more. Everyone was super excited for this, however, it turns out our Starboy couldn’t make his performance due to visa issues.

This is not the first time Wizkid’s missed an international show — in 2016 he was unable to perform at Wireless for the same reason. Given this, one would think that he’d have been a bit more prepared to perform at one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
If Wizkid had made it to Coachella, it would have been a massive deal for Nigeria, as it would have served as national pride for us (we could do with some good news over here) as well as pushed the African music scene to the world even further. Fans are really upset with him for this and have taken to Twitter to troll him.
We don’t know the exact details about his visa issues, and as Nigerians, we know the visa struggle, however, missing Coachella is not a good look at all. We really wish more careful measures had been taken.
We’re sure Wizkid is not happy about this either, and hopefully, he gets to redeem himself next weekend (if he ever makes it). There won’t be a live stream of next weekend’s performances like there was this weekend, but we’re sure we’ll find a way to see/hear what he does.
Here are some Twitter reactions to Wizkid missing Coachella:

If we’re keeping it a buck, all of these visa issues should be blamed on his team and not man himself. Wiz shouldn’t be thinking about visas. He has people to think about these things. Disappointing.

Wizkid is very unprofessional and I’m actually shocked at how far he has come with that attitude. It’s actually embarrassing. Like when VICE came to Nigeria to interview him and he couldn’t make time. Lol the entire documentary ended up being about his flakiness. https://t.co/1T4AZwXbkY
