Nigerian Army Will Need The Help Of Citizens To Conquer Boko Haram – Olowu Of Kuta

Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Dr Hammed Makama Oyelude, CON, Tegbosun iii, has urged Nigerians to do more to support the Nigerian Army amid the current security challenges.

He recently revealed that the militias and mercenaries are presently posing a major threat to national security.

Speaking via a press statement issued by his media office in Kuta, Oba Makama shared that these terrorists must be prevented from invading Nigeria fully, else it could spell doom for the entire nation.

Makama insisted that traditional rulers like himself must do everything possible to make sure their domains remain safe from the hydra-headed terrorists.

According to him, even though the Nigerian Army is tasked with securing the country’s territorial integrity, it is the duty of Nigerians to rally around them to guarantee success.

“As we all know that the Nigerian Army is responsible for the promotion and securing of our territorial integrity which is the symbol of our sovereignty, we must all rally round them to ensure they succeed in this onerous task.

To keep Nigeria as a one is a task that must be achieved, failure of which it will remain an ill wind that blows nobody any good,” he said.

The monarch noted that Pakistani nationals have been caught training Boko Haram members to attack Nigeria, and the sect have even bought heavy weapons they intend to use to confront the nation’s army.

He concluded by saying that all hands must remain on deck to defeat terrorism before it consumes us all.

Oba Makama also hailed the COAS, Lt General Oluyede for treating the welfare of troops as priority, while displaying exemplary leadership by leading from the front.

“It’s unthinkable that Pakistan nationals will be caught training the Boko Haram insurgency on how to attack the symbol of our sovereignty which is the Nigerian Army.

They’ve also gone ahead to acquire weapons such as UAV ( drones) and latest military hardware to confront our army. We must ensure that all hands are on deck to defeat this deadly ‘monster’ before it’s too late,” he added.
