Former Big Brother Naija star, Kiddwaya, has stirred conversation online after stating that his father, Terry Waya, was responsible for the discovery of Banana Island, one of Lagos’ most exclusive luxury neighbourhoods.
Kiddwaya reveals father’s role on popular podcast
Kiddwaya made the claim during a recent appearance on the Off The Record podcast.
Responding to a question from the host, he confirmed that he only learnt about the alleged role during one of his travels.
“Yeah, I didn’t even know until I heard it during one of my trips,” he said while acknowledging that his father shared the story with him much later.

Terry Waya, a self-acclaimed billionaire, is known for his investments across real estate, agriculture and hospitality.
His public profile grew significantly during and after Kiddwaya’s participation in the 2020 edition of Big Brother Naija.
The claim has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users expressing curiosity and others questioning the details surrounding the development of the high-brow island.
A video of the podcast exchange has also continued to make rounds online as Nigerians debate the history of Banana Island, a project widely regarded as one of the country’s most expensive residential zones.
