Popular Gospel singer, Dunsin Oyekan, has spoken up about how he coped with the loss of his wife, Adedoyin.
The 40-year-old artist recently shared a touching message to remember the mother of his kids on social media.
Speaking via his Instagram page, he revealed that his faith has kept him grounded since his wife left the world 6 years ago, and he definitely had his spiritual life to thank during the difficult journey to complete healing.
According to him, while many people kept wondering how he survived the shocking reality, he kept telling them that he didn’t numb the pain; he only channelled it.
Dunsin praised his Creator for giving him the grace to find closure in His presence, stressing that accepting God’s sovereignty helped him adjust to the sad reality eventually.
He then admitted that losing a loved one will always be a painful experience for anyone, but as human beings, we still have to glorify the Most High for being good to us.
“Six years today!! God is good.
Most people wondered how I survived. I didn’t numb the pain, I channeled it!
I found closure in the Presence of God, understood from God’s perspective, accepted His sovereignty and found joy in His presence!
That’s the path of Life…
6 years after, with tears of joy, all I still have to say is GOD IS GOOD!” he wrote.
Adedoyin suddenly died on the 18th of May, 2019, after a brief illness. The couple had two children together.
