The Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoma-Anite, on Friday described Nigeria’s youth as its “most powerful investment” at the Imo Trade and Investment Summit.
Speaking in Owerri, Uzoma-Anite praised young Nigerians for their talent, calling it indispensable to nation building and crucial for strengthening the country’s economy.
“The future we desire will not fall from heaven. We must build it and invest in it with dedication.
“A future where prosperity is not the privilege of a few, but the inheritance of many; a future where Imo shines as a beacon of innovation, partnership and investment,” she said.
Uzoma-Anite expressed gratitude to Imo governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, for his foresight in organising the summit and attracting global attention to the state.
“The Federal Ministry of Finance stands solidly behind Imo and any state committed to unlocking Nigeria’s limitless economic potential,” she affirmed.
Imo Deputy Governor, Mrs Chinyere Ekomaru, thanked citizens at home and abroad for their support, which contributed to the summit’s success.
She also reaffirmed the governor’s pledge to ensure a peaceful, prosperous Imo where all residents can legitimately thrive.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two-day summit was declared open on Thursday by President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Also in attendance were former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, highlighting the summit’s international significance. (NAN)
