A young Nigerian lady has shared her harrowing experience with a second ear piercing that resulted in a keloid, leading to surgery and further treatments.
In a now-viral video, TikTok user, @_therealnugwa recounted how a small piercing turned into a health ordeal after two years, with a keloid the size of a peanut growing at the site.
She captioned the video: “If only I knew what was waiting for me.”
Even though she underwent a successful surgery, she revealed that she must undergo cryotherapy to prevent the keloid from reappearing.
She added, “There’s high tendency for it to grow back that’s what my doctor said. I just did the surgery so I still have to do something they call cryotherapy so it doesn’t grow back.”
Many who had similar experiences have since shared their ordeal in the now-viral post while others simply empathized with the lady.
A social media user @Sugar 🍫🧚🏽♀️ reacted, “Story of my life 😂 after 3rd ear lobe and after 2years of piercing it 🥺 surgically removed it and it is growing back. It breaks my heart.”
Another user @jiddarhusman added, “same thing happened to me, I had the surgery thrice cause it kept reoccurring. after a long line of treatment I pierced again and I’m rocking 3 piercings now🥰.”
