Popular recruitment solutions company in Nigeria, Jobberman, has announced plans to train more than 30,000 Akwa Ibom entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 to 35.

The platform recently revealed that it is set to empower Nigerians with the needed knowledge and skills to be sharp business minds.

Ikhide stated that the training, which would be based on Soft skills and Entrepreneurship/small business development, would prepare beneficiaries for potential employment and connect them to dignified jobs.

According to him, the soft skills training will cover personal effectiveness, time management, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, problem solving, CV writing mastery and job interviews, while the entrepreneurship and small business course would focus on teaching participants how to write a business plan, how to package a business, the legal aspect of the business world, and what to expect as a business man or woman.

Ikhide reiterated Jobberman’s commitment when it comes to bridging the unemployment and underemployment gap in the country, while appealing to Nigerian youths to take full advantage of the free training to prepare themselves for employment.

“Soft skill training is positioned for young people who are job seekers and are looking for opportunity to gain formal employment. We want people to either gain formal employment or use the skills to start up their own enterprise, our expectation is to have about 20 to 30 Thousand young Akwa Ibom people to be trained and gainfully employed. We want them to take advantage of this opportunity which is totally free, courtesy of Jobberman together with our partner, Inspired decision.

From research conducted, we acknowledge that there is a gap that exist, young people who graduated from university cannot get jobs and that’s also because employers also complain that young people are not even employable, so this project is to ensure that many who come for the training continue to shift their mindset to be resilient to also take advantage of every given opportunity,” he said.

After appreciating the Akwa Ibom State government and other partners of the initiatives, Ikhide announced that Jobberman is also set to launch a key forum for Nigerians living with disability so they don’t feel left out.

Uruan local government Chairman, Surv Iniobong Ekpenyong, simply urged the beneficiaries to grab the opportunity with both hands and make sure they put all they learn to good use.
