In 2019 I discarded a full album to record ‘African Giant’ – Burna Boy

Nigerian Grammy-winner, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy has revealed that he recorded the African Giant album because he felt insulted by the Coachella incident of 2019.
Recall that in 2019, he was listed in the lineup of artistes to perform at Coachella that year, but his name was written in small fonts and he had difficulty locating his name.
He spoke during an interview on Billboard’s Music Con, as he noted that he started calling himself African Giant after that controversial moment and went ahead to make the Grammy winning album.
According to the ‘Dangote’ crooner, he said that he had another album ready to be released that period, but he dumped it.
He stated that the incident Coachella incident inspired him to record the African Giant from scratch and if it hadn’t happened he would have released the other album.
