I’m Sure Nigeria Is In Capable Hands – Buhari Speaks After Handing Over The Baton To Tinubu

President Muhammadu Buhari has handed over the baton of service to the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday 25th May in Abuja.

The transition documents were handed over to Bola Tinubu at the investiture of the National Honour of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic on Tinubu and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger on Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.

In line with the Executive Order 14 which mandates that the transition council issues handover notes containing, amongst other things, proposed policy direction for the incoming administration and this is what the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari has just done.

Speaking at the event, President Buhari said he confident that Nigeria is in good hands and he is sure that the President-elect is capable. He also urged the incoming President not to forget that leadership comes with enormous responsibility.

Buhari’s words reads:

“I have ran a good race and finish the fight and it is time for me to pass the baton”. “I am confident that Nigeria is in capable hands.”

“I will urged the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not to forget that leadership comes with enormous responsibility.”

Meanwhile, Tinubu stated that he understood the honour bestowed upon him and his VP-elect and the its magnitude. He then said that the outgoing president should expects knocks on his door wherever he may be after leaving the office.

Tinubu’s words reads:

“I understand the honour given to me today and the magnitude of the task ahead, whether you go to Daura or Niger Republic, expect knocks on your doors.”

Meanwhile, lots of dignitaries and important personality were present at the event.
