Nollywood actress and producer Kiitan Bukola has said that she does not see anything wrong with married women who are more financially buoyant than their husbands.
She recently revealed that there is nothing wrong with it since some women are born to rule.
The movie star shared that her last movie, titled “Inequality,” focused on the power dynamics in marriages where women earn more than their husbands, stressing that those are the kind of thought-provoking projects she loves to be a part of.
According to her, she does not see anything wrong with the woman making more money than the man as long as the lady in question doesn’t let it lead to her disrespecting her husband.
Kiitan noted that women who are more financially buoyant than their husbands should learn to remain humble and calm, even while supporting their husbands with their own money.
“I don’t see a problem with it because some women are born to be great and they are born to rule. But just don’t be arrogant. Because you have money doesn’t mean you should disrespect your husband. Be peaceful, calm and respectful. You can even support your husband with your money.
As an actress, there are some men that cannot stand me, because they believe I will be seeing other men that are more financially secure. I see that as low self-esteem. As a man, you don’t need to have low self-esteem, you just need to be focused on whatever you are doing, as far as she respects you, and you haven’t seen her do wrong,” she said.
On if there is any role she cannot play on screen, the actress disclosed that she can never act porn.
Kiitan concluded by saying that while she likes to challenge herself with diverse roles, there are certain lines she cannot cross.
“As long as it’s not the role of a porn star, I am ready to play any role. I love to challenge myself,” she added.
