I See Nothing Wrong In APC Picking Who It Thinks Can Work With Tinubu As Senate President- Wike

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has dismissed claims suggesting that if elected as senate president, the National Assembly under Godswill Akpabio would be rubber stamp.

According to The Cable, Wike said there’s nothing wrong in APC picking the candidate they believe can work together with Bola Tinubu as senate president.

Recall that Godswill Akpabio has been endorsed by the All Progressives Congress and the president-elect, Bola Tinubu. Due to the endorsement, claims that the National Assembly under Godswill Akpabio will be rubber stamp, has been making the rounds.

However, while receiving Godswill Akpabio and a group of senators-elect on Tuesday, Wike said for the interest of the country, it is necessary for the next senate president and the president-elect to work together.

Wike said “This is the time for me to support him, he supported me when I wanted to be Rivers state governor. If we want this country to truly move forward from where we are today, I see nothing wrong in the ruling party (APC) picking who it thinks can work with the president-elect, (Bola Tinubu) as senate president of the 10th assembly.”
