How to Add Photos to a New Photos Album on iPhone & iPad with iOS 13

Many of us take hundreds or even thousands of pictures on our iPhones and iPads over the course of a year. All of these photos are mixed along with all other saved images too, including screenshots, images you download from the internet, and pictures you receive from social networks, all in the primary camera roll photos album. This can make it difficult to find a specific picture within the stock Photos app. This is why organizing your pictures with albums is key when it comes to being able to quickly access the photos you want to.

With each new iteration of iOS, Apple makes certain tweaks to the Camera and Photos app in order to make it more user-friendly, but mostly it just confuses long time iOS users. The recent iOS 13 software update is no different, as Apple has changed the way you add photos to an album.

If you are trying to create your own photo album on your device running iOS or iPad, you’re in the right place as we’ll be discussing exactly how you can add photos to a new photos album on iPhone and iPad with iOS and iPadOS.

That’s how you add photos to a newly created album.

By following the same procedure, you could always add more photos to the same album, and keep it updated whenever you want to.

Categorizing the Photos by albums is the first step to organizing the photo library on your iPhone or iPad. For example, if you travel a lot and take countless pictures, naming albums after the places you visited would make it a lot easier to access the pictures you shot on your device.

That being said, supported applications automatically create albums of their own, like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and even the Screenshots album, within the Photos app. Let’s say, you saved a photo from Twitter or shared a photo on Instagram, these social networks have their separate photo albums, so the pictures you downloaded or shared will be automatically moved to their respective albums labeled as such, and the best part is, you don’t really have to do anything.

Perhaps in the future there will be smart albums and other sorting mechanisms for photos too. In any event, it’s great to be able to create your own custom albums and add photos to it on your iPhone or iPad as desired.

We hope you managed to organize your iPhone or iPad photo library by sorting your pictures into albums.
