How Suspect Lured And Kill Final Year Student He Met On Facebook In Kwara

On Monday, February 10, 2025, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, a final-year student at the Kwara State College of Education in Ilorin, went missing while attending a naming ceremony.

According to eyewitnesses, she received a phone call from a friend and stepped away, leaving her food behind. Despite a thorough search, her whereabouts remained unknown.

The following day, her parents reported the incident to the Oja Oba Police Station in Ilorin.

The police launched an investigation, tracing Yetunde’s last phone call to a suspect living in the Ofa garage district area of Ilorin.

Although the suspect initially denied any knowledge of Yetunde’s disappearance, a search of his residence revealed a shocking discovery:

Yetunde’s dismembered body, hidden in a bowl, along with the equipment used to dismember her.

The suspect, who allegedly met Yetunde on Facebook and lured her to his residence, is currently in custody at the Kwara State Police Headquarters. Disturbing evidence found at the scene suggests that this may not be the suspect’s first offense.

A table in his room appeared to be equipped with tools used to dismember bodies.

The Kwara State Police Command is commended for their excellent work in solving this case. As the investigation unfolds, more information will become available.
