How I helped my dad to secure deal with World Bank president – Davido

Award-winning Nigerian musician, David Adeleke aka Davido has revealed that he connected his father, Mr Adedeji Adeleke with the President of World Bank, David Malpass.

Davido said he was able to link his billionaire father with Malpass after a brief run-in at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Speaking with American media personality, Big Boi, the ‘Fall’ crooner said his father has been trying to meet the World Bank president for sometime but without success.

The Omo Baba Olowo said that after performing the closing ceremony of the world cup, he bumped into Malpass at his hotel and the economic analyst commended his performance.

He said that the moment they exchanged pleasantries and Malpass introduced himself, he immediately called his father and told him that he was with the President of the global bank.

As soon as he said that his dad asked him to give the phone to Malpass and that was how they linked up for a deal.

Davido said; “My dad has a lot of friends in high places and he has been trying to look for the president of the world bank. He’s been trying to get to the guy and the guy was at the world cup.

He sees me in the hotel and says “Davido I enjoyed your performance, I am the President of the World Bank”, I said; “Hold on “hello daddy, I have the president of the world bank” and he said; “Give him the phone”, connected the deal just like that.”
